DSD-A is a digital hardness tester or durometer used for quick and accurate measurement of the surface hardness of rubber, plastic and other nonmetals. Ideal for use in manufacturing production and quality assurance as well as in inbound and outbound control applications, this Shore A durometer comes precisely calibrated to help manufacturers ensure the best quality materials are obtained and the best quality products are produced. Thus, this durometer helps manufacturing companies save money by preventing costly returns of manufactured parts.

Designed with high-quality components to provide years of accurate measurements, this handheld durometer works by measuring soft to semi-soft materials' resistance to indentation. The included protective carrying case allows for ease of portability.

The DSD-A portable durometer is a battery powered hardness tester that can be held quite comfortably while performing measurements, so test samples do not need to be transported to a stationary machine or laboratory for review. Measurements can be taken on the spot. However, if the instrument is used daily, it is recommended that, in addition to the handheld durometer, a test stand is acquired. Furthermore, optional software specifically tailored to the DSD-A durometer can be obtained, so measurement data can be transferred to a computer for further analysis.
